A Multifunctional Sitting Room with Built-In Joinery and Alcove Design

This sitting room was designed under our Deluxe Package for a repeat client, having previously worked together on their dining room. The brief called for a space that could shift between work, leisure, and entertaining without ever feeling compromised in any one direction.

The result is a room that holds its own as a social space while quietly accommodating the demands of daily life. A pool table anchors the centre, making an intentional statement about how the room is meant to be used, while the surrounding design ensures the space never tips into purely recreational territory.

Bespoke Joinery and Alcove Design

Storage and utility were built directly into the architecture of the room through bespoke joinery and alcove design. The built-in units integrate cleanly with the overall aesthetic, keeping the room visually uncluttered while adding genuine functionality. One alcove was configured as a working desk, creating a discreet but purposeful space for focused work without needing a separate room.

The Design Board

The design board was built around a palette of rich navy and soft beige, a combination that brings depth without heaviness. A grey sofa, gold coffee table, and considered seating choices layer texture and warmth into the scheme. Ambient lighting and carefully placed décor reinforce the cosy register the client wanted, ensuring the room feels inviting rather than merely styled.

The layout was planned to preserve an open, natural flow through the space while maintaining distinct zones for different activities. It is a room that adapts to the rhythm of everyday life rather than dictating how it should be used.
