This open-plan scheme brings together traditional detailing and clean contemporary lines without either element dominating the other. The palette of navy, oatmeal and soft clay with natural timber gives the space a settled, established quality that still feels current.
Bespoke Alcove Joinery
The TV wall is anchored by bespoke alcove joinery combining Shaker cabinetry below with open shelving above. The styling of the open shelves was considered carefully, mixing matte black ceramics, soft stone vessels, warm brass accents and a measured selection of books. Negative space is as deliberate as the objects within it, keeping the wall composed rather than cluttered.
The Living Area
A deep navy corner sofa and patterned ottoman introduce depth and texture against pale flooring. A round mirror and furniture with turned legs offer a gentle nod to tradition without pulling the scheme backwards. The proportions are generous without feeling heavy.
The Dining Space
The adjoining dining area seats six at a dark green table with mid-grey chairs, the ends kept clear to maintain flow through the space. A rounded sideboard, abstract landscape artwork and a simple moss bowl centrepiece connect the dining zone to the living area without forcing the link. The two spaces read as one room that has been designed with the same hand throughout.
