A Modern Sitting Room with Bespoke Alcoves and Sapphire Accents
This sitting room was designed through our online interior design service around a palette that balances deep sapphire and rich russet against soft neutrals. The brief required a room that felt considered and personal, with storage that worked hard without disrupting the aesthetic.
Bespoke Alcove Design
The custom-built alcoves are central to both the look and the function of the room. Open shelving above provides space to display curated décor, books and personal pieces, while lower cabinetry conceals everyday storage cleanly. A sleek sideboard with a herringbone pattern sits within the alcove, its minimalist handles and circular mirror above adding refinement and reflecting natural light back into the space.
The Design Board
The design board brings together neutral tones with rich russet and deep blue accents to create a warm, layered atmosphere. A plush off-white sofa forms the centrepiece, dressed with cushions that introduce pattern and complementary colour without overpowering the scheme. A blue armchair adds a deliberate pop of colour alongside additional seating that earns its place stylistically as much as practically.
Brass-finished side tables sit throughout the room, threading a consistent material warmth through the design. A soft neutral rug grounds the arrangement, while a Roman blind at the window keeps the treatment clean and uncompetitive with the rest of the room. Decorative objects, a diffuser and a few well-chosen books complete a space that feels lived-in rather than staged.
