Samantha-Jane founded House Designer with a simple idea: good design shouldn’t be reserved for people with huge budgets. After 16 years in the industry, she knew there had to be a better, more accessible way to work with a professional designer.

Founded

House Designer, January 2020

Samantha-Jane began her career in fashion design, where she learned to think in material, proportion and detail. That training never left her. When she moved into interiors and trained at the British Academy of Interior Design, she brought a fashion designer’s eye for how things should feel, not just how they should look, and it still runs through every House Designer scheme today.

She founded House Designer in January 2020 after seeing the same problem again and again: homeowners wanted professional design help, but the traditional studio model often felt too expensive, too slow or simply out of reach. Her answer was a studio built for how people actually live now. House Designer was created to offer another way. Bringing interiors, gardens and exteriors under one studio, the team works with clients across the UK and internationally through a remote design process that makes professional expertise far more accessible without stripping away the thinking behind it.

Her expert commentary has appeared in Forbes, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, House Beautiful, Country Living, Martha Stewart, The Spruce, Fast Company, Homes & Gardens and The Independent and many more.
